Started in 2002, Church in the Park is an evangelistic outreach ministry taking the gospel to our community in an unusual way - We seek to take the ministry of the Church to our community, but without the formality of a traditional church service, and of course without the 4 walls of a church building!
Church in the Park is currently held monthly, on the first Saturday of each month, in Bigge Park, in the heart of Liverpool, south-western Sydney (See here for more dates).
We seek to provide a friendly, informal environment, with a free sausage sizzle, children's activities such as a jumping castle, face painting and drawing, and lots of worship music.
We also present a clear gospel message through the preaching of God's Word in a contemporary format, and through individual testimonies from people from many different backgrounds.
While our core team is comprised of leaders from Living Hope Church, we regard our ministry as being non-denominational, and we have members of other churches serving in our worship team, as intercessors, as sound crew, in food preparation, transport, personal evengelism and ministry,and in children's ministry.
A particular focus...
There are many broken, hurting Christians in our community - Christians who no longer fellowship in a regular church setting because of past hurts and abuses.
One of our ministry's aims is to help bring healing and reconciliation to these believers, and bring them back into fellowship with other Christians.
We also seek to reach those who have never experienced the healing, deliverance and restoration that only a personal relationship with Jesus Christ can bring.
We believe that the relaxed and informal open-air setting of Church in the Park provides the perfect environment for people to connect with the Christian faith - whether for the first time, or to re-discover their relationship with God.
